England beat India by eight wickets in the third and final one-day international to clinch the series 2-1 at Leeds on Tuesday.

After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, the hosts restricted India to 256-8 in their allotted 50 overs. This was in large part due to the efforts of leg-spinner Adil Rashid and fast bowler David Willey, who took three wickets each. One of Rashid's wickets was that of captain Virat Kohli, who top-scored for the tourists with a 72-ball 71.

There were cameos from other batters, but in the end the total did not seem threatening enough as England overhauled the total with 5.3 overs to spare. Joe Root scored his second consecutive hundred, while captain Eoin Morgan finished on 88 not out.
