Bramble set for Sunderland move
Wigan's Titus Bramble underwent a medical at Sunderland yesterday ahead of a move to the Stadium of Light. The two clubs agreed a fee in the region of £1 million (Dh5.6m) for the centre-back. Bramble, 28, will be reunited with Steve Bruce, the Sunderland manager, who spent two seasons at Wigan before leaving the club in 2009.
Meanwhile, Eduardo, the Brazilian-born Croatia striker, has left Arsenal to join Shakhtar Donetsk, the Ukrainian champions. The fee was around £6 million (Dh33.8m) according to British media. Eduardo joined the Gunners in 2007 from Croatia's Dynamo Zagreb. He never recovered top form after a career-threatening leg break in 2008 and he signed for Shakhtar only after passing a medical. * Agencies
