Manchester City opened up a three-point gap at the top of the Premier League as they beat Fulham 3-0 at a snow-covered Etihad Stadium.
Bad day for Chris Baird as Man City get back to winning ways
On a bitterly cold and snow-covered Etihad Stadium pitch, Sergio Aguero put Roberto Mancini's side ahead from the spot after Adam Johnson had created the contact for a fall following Chris Baird's tackle.
Then Baird's night got even worse as he turned Johnson's cross into his own net to double City's lead in a one-sided opening period.
Edin Dzeko scored City's third midway through the second half after Aguero danced his way through the Fulham defence before laying the ball off for his strike partner to convert an easy chance.
Manchester United, City's closest challengers, can draw level on points this afternoon should they beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, though City have a far superior goal difference.
Both sides were fortunate to finish the game with their full quota of players still on the pitch.
Aleksandar Kolarov, who was about to be booked for hauling Moussa Dembele back, was fortunate to escape a red card when he got engaged in a head-to-head duel with the Fulham man, but the referee Mike Dean only handed out a yellow card to both players.
