Atlanta Hawks bounce back against Charlotte Bobcats

Recovering from Friday's humiliation to New Orleans, Joe Johnson inspires the Hawks to a 103-87 victory.

The Atlanta Hawks bounced back from a humiliating defeat with a 103-87 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats.

Joe Johnson scored 32 points for the Hawks, who had scored just 59 on Friday night at home against New Orleans, their lowest score since moving to Atlanta 42 years ago.

The Cleveland Cavaliers were not so lucky however, losing 92-79 at the Chicago Bulls to extend their losing streak to 16 games.

The Phoenix Suns saw their five-game winning streak come to an end when Austin Daye made the go-ahead shot with 53 seconds left as the Detroit Pistons won 75-74.

And Dwight Howard had 22 points and 14 rebounds as the Orlando Magic eased to a 118-104 win over the Houston Rockets.

The Miami Heat were also comfortable winners, LeBron James collecting 38 points and 11 rebounds as his side beat the Toronto Raptors 120-103, while Marc Gasol scored 24 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in the Memphis Grizzlies’ 94-81 win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

Dirk Nowitzki scored the winning basket with six seconds left as the Dallas Mavericks beat the New Jersey Nets 87-86, while the New Orleans Hornets claimed their eighth consecutive victory and ended the San Antonio Spurs’ own eight-game winning streak with a 96-72 success.

Kevin Durant scored 30 points and hit the first game-winner of his career as time expired to lift the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 101-98 win against the New York Knicks, while the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Utah Jazz 96-85.

The Washington Wizards came back from 16 points down in the first quarter to beat the Boston Celtics 85-83, the Portland Trail Blazers also erased a 16-point deficit to beat the Indiana Pacers 97-92 and the LA Clippers beat the Golden State Warriors 113-109.
