Argentine coach rings the changes

Nestor Clausen takes over as coach from the Brazilian Junior dos Santos.

Clearing the relegation zone by six points was not accomplishment enough for Dubai SCS, who have replaced their coach and overhauled their foreign contingent for the coming season.

Nestor Clausen, a former Argentina international, takes over as coach from the Brazilian Junior dos Santos.

His foreign players will be the French forward Samir Henaini, Simon Feindouno, the playmaker from Guinea who scored five league goals last season for the relegated Kalba side; the Bahrain international Fawzi Ayesh, and Aboubaker Camara, a midfielder from Guinea who scored six goals for Dubai last season.

Each was signed to a one-year contract by Dubai, the youngest club in the top flight, having been founded in 1996.

Henaini, 27, played for the French third-tier side Etoile Frejus Saint-Raphael last season, scoring 11 goals in 37 games. He had been on loan from Sedan Ardennes, a second-tier team.

Ayesh, 26, played last season for Al Sailiya SC of Qatar. He has 58 appearances with the Bahrain senior side, who fell one step short of qualifying for last year's World Cup.

Feindouno and Camara are each 25.

Clausen, 49, becomes the third Argentine to be appointed to coach in the top flight next season, joining Diego Maradona of Al Ahli and Alejandro Sabella of Al Jazira.

He played 26 matches with his national side, several of them with Maradona.

He has experience in the region, having coached the Al Kuwait club in 2009. He also served as the assistant coach of the Oman national team in 2007/08.

His most recent coaching job was with the Bolivian club side The Strongest.
