Dubai’s NStyle Beauty Lounge has an interesting list of treatments for the nails, body and face, including the bee-sting facial.
Marketed as a “natural alternative to Botox” the treatment uses the insect’s venom and honey.
But I am keen to try their latest addition, the HydraFacial, a 30-minute treatment that targets fine lines and wrinkles, congested skin, hyperpigmentation and rosacea.
After being welcomed into a private room, the therapist checks my skin, points out the areas that needed the most attention, and asks me to alert her to any discomfort during the treatment.
The HydraFacial is described as a “truly deep cleansing” experience, and it’s true. The therapist uses suction-like equipment with blue and red lights to thoroughly exfoliate the skin and extract blackheads. Besides the light tingling sensation from the gadget, I experience a slight stinging that soon disappears.
Rich antioxidants and hydrating hyaluronic acid are then used, as well as with LED light therapy and a collagen mask, which is applied depending on what your skin needs.
The results were good – I noticed a tightening of my pores, and my skin glowed for several days afterwards.
The HydraFacial – which is also offered for the body, where you can focus on a specific area, such as the back – is non-invasive and can vary in time and intensity, depending on your skin and preference. The Booster treatment is basic, lasting 30 minutes, while the Deluxe includes lymphatic drainage therapy to spur on the detoxification process, and a “MultiPeptide Dermabuilder” that zeroes in on fine lines and wrinkles.
