TV star signs three films with Karan Johar’s production house
The television actor Siddharth Shukla has signed a three-film deal with Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. The first is Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, which also stars Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt. "Siddharth is a talented actor and a rage on TV. Dharma Productions plans to continue its professional equation with him," Johar said in a statement. The titles of the other two films have not been revealed. – IANS
Rita Moreno honoured with SAG Life Achievement Award
Rita Moreno has won Oscar, Emmy, Grammy and Tony awards but never expected to be honoured by the Screen Actors Guild. "It was stunning news," Moreno said, "the last thing in the world I would have ever expected." The 82-year-old Puerto Rican actress has a movie career that dates back to 1950, with her first career triumph coming with the film adaptation of the stage musical The King and I in 1956. She went on to win a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her performance as the Hispanic gang leader's girlfriend Anita in 1961's West Side Story. SRK, Aamir and Salman confirmed for 2014 police show in Mumbai
The three Khans – Salman, Shah Rukh and Aamir – will attend the Mumbai police show, Umang, this year. Some of the celebrities lined up to perform include Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapoor. The reclusive actor Ajay Devgn has also been roped in. Umang is an annual event where Bollywood takes the stage to raise funds for the city's police welfare fund. – The National staff
