We can’t avoid the allure of the internet. From updating social media posts to getting the latest headlines, our smartphones dominate our lives. This year, online shopping took off in this part of the world.

As our reporting revealed, online shopping is great for consumers, businesses and the economy as a whole.

As we move from a cash-based society to a cashless one, shopping online with a credit card is a great way to assist the transition.

To get a better idea of how people view online shopping, we asked 5,000 TaskSpotting users for their thoughts about the safety and security of shopping through the internet.

TaskSpotting describes itself as the region’s only advocate marketing platform and pitches our questions to its app community who typically engage with brands and relevant issues to create content, spread awareness and share feedback.

The results of the survey found that the majority of users felt that online shopping was safe, secure and cheap. Many users also took advantage of holiday deals online.

While malls will always have a special place in society, the direction of travel towards online shopping is clear.
