I write to you in reference to Ashleigh Stewart's article The day the UAE skies fell silent: striking images show vanishing regional flights (March 25).

Great job and fantastic efforts made by Emirates and Etihad airways during these nerve-wrecking and difficult times. Thank you for your services and I wish the two airliners soon resume flights once this crisis is tided over.

Many employees in the aviation sector have been sacked or have seen their salaries or benefits reduced. It is really sad.

Pompeo should self-quarantine to protect Americans

I write to you in reference to your article Coronavirus: Pompeo will not isolate himself after Afghanistan and Qatar trip (March 25). This piece was a shocking read. After his trip abroad, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has announced he is not going to self isolate despite the recommendations of health organisations. I believe this is a mistake. A UAE resident went on to infect 17 other people with the coronavirus after having failed to self-quarantine upon his return from Europe. Mr Pompeo should not endanger himself and those around him. It is always better to be safe than sorry.

Coronavirus does not spare the rich and the famous

I write to you in reference to your live blog article Coronavirus latest: Prince Charles tests positive (March 25). Coronavirus is reaching world leaders and celebrities. This has never happened before. May God help Prince Charles.

Emirati leadership is taking the right steps to protect us

I write to you in reference to a video shared on your Facebook page with the caption The President and CEO of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce has a message regarding Covid 19: thank you for such a wonderful message. Please stay at home and take care during these difficult times. I urge the public to heed the government's orders.

We should all be glad that here in Dubai authorities acted quickly and closed all the schools early on. They have done their best to protect everyone. We are so lucky to be here in such difficult times. We feel safe. Thank you. No matter in which country you are, stay home and stay safe. We have to protect ourselves and those of us who are most vulnerable.
