The Coldplay concert was absolutely amazing (Coldplay ring in 2017 and pay tribute to George Michael in spectacular Abu Dhabi show, January 1).

The audience was in a perfect party mood. I have never experienced such a positive vibe at a concert.

Novak Stevanovic, Abu Dhabi

It was an amazing night – the best gig I’ve ever been to. I couldn’t fault it.

Vicki Attoe, Dubai

It was a fantastic evening. The concert was the best way to spend New Year’s Eve. The atmosphere was amazing and Coldplay were too.

Tracey Richardson, Dubai

It was an amazing show. Absolutely fantastic.

I don’t call it a clutter

Having been a collector all my life, of pretty much everything, I had to sit down and take a deep breath after reading the article on decluttering and minimalism (Six techniques to declutter your home for a satisfying start to the new year, December 30).

I appreciate that some people prefer bland and soulless spaces, but I choose to surround myself with interesting and quirky objects and art, items that make me smile and reminisce about my travels and experiences.

I love my things. I love looking at them, admiring them, touching them and talking about them. My friends love my house, where all these belongings are tastefully displayed. In fact, I have so many things that I am thinking of opening a museum of quirky things in Scotland and displaying the collected hoard of the past 30 years, so everyone can smile at these mad collections.

So hoarding and collecting is not all bad.

Why isn’t traffic law enforced?

Driver safety is a topic that is widely spoken about and never enforced (Drivers urged to buckle up and put the phone down in 2017, January 1). Suspend licences and after the third offence cancel them for ever. I know that driving at 140 kilometres an hour and checking Facebook and WhatsApp are important to certain people, but innocent lives matter a lot more.

Arjuna De Alwis, Sri Lanka

You can “urge” as much as you like for the rest of eternity and it will not work. Enforcement by humans is needed. Technological enforcement just collects cash.

Adrian Holman, Abu Dhabi

How can you catch offenders without any traffic police around?
