As The National reported yesterday, after receiving the Shield of Excellence award this year for her efforts to serve civil society in Egypt, the woman known as "the mother of the nation" in the UAE has also been named the mother of the Arabs by the General Union of Arab Producers and the Arab Women's Campaign. She was awarded the title at a ceremony in the Abu Dhabi on Friday.
This region is indeed fortunate to have a remarkable woman like Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, whose caring hands have extended to reach inside and outside her country.
