Art Week is officially underway in Dubai, and while there’s certainly an abundance of elaborate installations with obscure messages popping up around the city, there are a handful of pretty cool fashion-related art pieces on display too. Local concept store S*uce has taken a fun and lighthearted approach to Art Week with a pop-up dubbed Free the Cake, at Dubai Design District (D3), where the company recently relocated its headquarters to.

For the fashion-meets-interiors installation, S*uce recruited regional designers to create limited-edition deck chars — the type that are generally found on the patio or by the pool. These are currently being displayed at the #discoverd3 warehouse at D3, and will soon be available online at www.shopatsauce.com.

Pass by to see Arwa Al Banawi’s mint and monochrome geometric collage design, or Bedouin’s piece, which features a welcoming message — “You can sit with us.” Zayan the Label’s deck chair is decorated with bright floral embroidery, and Fatma Al Mulla’s is adorned with gold versions of her popular niqab phone cases. The pop-up is open until March 25 at D3.
