World Government Summit: Celebrities to fly in to Dubai from around the world
From Harrison Ford to Arianna Huffington – these are the speakers to look out for at the Dubai event
As well as attracting government ministers, CEOs and prestigious editors from around the globe, the World Government Summit is also flying in a number of celebrity speakers, to address audiences at the Dubai conference.
The event takes place at Madinat Jumeirah from February 10-12, 2019.
These are the most famous faces flying in for the occasion:
The motivational speaker, leadership expert, entrepreneur and philanthropist is going to be speaking at one of the plenary sessions. His session, entitled The Evolution of Leaders, will take place from 9.30am to 10.20am on Sunday, February 10.
Robbins is known for his books on personal and business development, including Unlimited Power and Awaken the Giant Within, as well as hosting major transformative conferences and seminars, which many define as "life changing".
Later in 2019, Tony Robbins will be coming back to the UAE for his first full-day public seminar. Robbins will be on stage on September 3, 10am to 4.30pm. The venue is yet to be confirmed.
HuffPost co-founder and political commentator Arianna Huffington will be speaking at the Mitigating the Risk of the Next Global Epidemic plenary session, under her latest endeavour, Thrive Global, a digital start-up focused on health and wellness information.
It will run from 2pm to 2.30pm on Sunday, February 10.
The Dr Oz Show's Mehmet Oz will also be speaking at the Mitigating the Risk of the Next Global Epidemic plenary session with Huffington. His shows have long focused on medical issues and personal health, and he first shot to fame after his regular appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show in the mid-2000s.
On Tuesday, February 12, Star Wars legend Harrison Ford will be speaking at the Future of Our Oceans plenary session.
A vocal supporter of environmental issues, he is set to deliver a 20-minute talk on ocean conservation, from 9.20am.
Other speakers at the World Government Summit will include former UN secretary general Ban Ki-moon, who will speak at a climate change forum; head of the International Monetary Fund Christine Lagarde; and Prime Minister of Lebanon Saad al-Hariri.
Simon Sinek, whose 2016 video Millennials in the Workplace went viral, will be appearing at a plenary session on Tuesday, February 12.
There will also be a recorded message from Pope Francis to the governments of the world, shown at 5.35pm on Sunday, February 10, following his historic visit to the UAE.
