According to Down Detector, problems started being reported shortly before 3pm. Since then, more than 745 people have recorded issues with the app.

Many WhatsApp users have also taken to social media to report problems.

“I don't know what is happening in WhatsApp..pic not sending @WhatsApp,” wrote one user.

Another said: “Anyone else's WhatsApp having issues? i.e. pictures and videos not sending.”

Both the mobile app and online version of the Facebook-owned messenger platform seem to be affected.
