Treat your feet with the Pedi-Puja treatment at B/ATTITUDE spa.
Tried and tested: A foot treatment for your body and mind
WHAT I TRIED The Pedi-Puja feet treatment at the newly opened B/ATTITUDE spa at Tower 2, Grosvenor House hotel, Dubai.
WHAT I WANTED When I go for a pedicure, the best part about it other than having glistening toes is having my feet touched and massaged. With so many parts of the body related to pressure points in the foot, I find this far more relaxing than any kind of body massage.
WHAT HAPPENED The treatment is a mix of reflexology, hot stones and kansu bowl massage, using a bowl made of copper, bronze and zinc alloy that is said to absorb body heat and to work gently on muscular tissue. My sweet Thai therapist took me into the candle-adorned treatment room to give me a warm foot wash in rose petal water. Then as I lay face down on the bed, she massaged and rubbed from toes to calves using her hands, the hot stones and the kansu bowl, one leg at a time. The pressure was just enough to both stimulate and relax.
THE VERDICT These treatments are said to restore sleep and calm the whole body, giving a sense of wellbeing. Indeed, my mind and body felt relaxed without being left lethargic as some massages can make you feel, and I slept like a baby that night.
The 60-minute Pedi-Puja treatment costs Dh390. For spa reservations, call 04 399 8888
