If you are wondering what you can do to help others this Ramadan, there are many campaigns and opportunities to choose from.
One is "Share a Touch of Love this Ramadan" organised by Comfort Creations, in collaboration with the UAE Red Crescent Authority. In its third year, this campaign, which now extends to Kuwait, encourages us to dig deep into our wardrobes for items we no longer wear. The clothing is then distributed to those in need.
The donation booths are at Mall of the Emirates and Deira City Center until July 31 and at Mirdif City Center until August 14.
"We encourage people to donate as part of their charitable acts during Ramadan," says Kenneth Lingan, the marketing director at Unilever Home and Personal Care.
More than 500 people have donated clothing in just the first three days of the campaign. Last year, there were 2,000 donations with an average of between four and five pieces each, much of which was sent to Yemen.
"We welcome all items as long as they are clean and wearable," he says. Clothing for everyday wear as well as for babies and children is especially required.
Each donor will receive a bottle of the new Comfort Creations range.
