Hours of yoga in the open air sounds like a healthy way to relax and unwind.
The Yogathon Challenge is coming to Abu Dhabi
We have our fingers crossed that Friday will boast clear skies, zero per cent humidity, a cool breeze and no lingering dust - the perfect conditions for two-and-a-half hours of outdoor yoga. Yogathon Challenge Abu Dhabi will take place in Khalifa Park, behind the Park Rotana Hotel, on Friday starting at 5pm and it will be free for all those who wish to attend. In Dubai, a similar event will be taking place at Zabeel Park.
The challenge is part of the Yoga for Health festival, organised by the Art of Living foundation in the Middle East - a volunteer-based NGO dedicated to creating a society free of stress and violence.
Participants will learn to complete 12 designed sequences of sun salutations, comprising 108 rounds (54 sets).
To ensure you're in tip-top shape for Friday's event, stop by the Corniche Formal Park behind the Millennium Hotel at 7.30pm this Wednesday for an hour of free yoga training, where the 12 postures that will make up the sequence of the challenge are being taught. All those who take part in the Friday challenge will leave with a Spirit of Yoga Certificate. Those who complete all 108 rounds of yoga postures will be awarded a Gold Certificate.
