Begin standing with your feet together, core solid and glutes clenched.

Jump into a plié squat, keeping your back straight and knees bent to a 90-degree angle. Maintain balance with your arms held parallel to your thighs, palms together.

Hold the position for two seconds before hopping back into the upright stance. Rest and repeat 15 to 20 times.

Top tip Don't forget to contract your abs while squatting. Engage your core.
