'If I can, you can': Sania Mirza showcases her weight loss journey in an inspirational post
The tennis player lost 26 kilograms in a span of four months
It seems like there’s little ace tennis star Sania Mirza can’t do. Other than her impressive skills on the tennis court, the 33-year-old is already known for shutting down trolls and speaking out against body shaming, and she recently took to Instagram to share a picture capturing her inspiring weight loss journey.
The post features a “before” and an “after” picture, taken four months apart. The difference in weight between the two is 26 kilograms.
“89 kilos versus 63. We all have goals, everyday goals and long term goals. Take pride in each one of those. It took me four months to achieve this goal of mine, to get back to being healthy and fit after having a baby. Feels like such a long way to come back and regain fitness and being able to compete at the highest level again,” she said in the caption.
Mirza and her husband, Pakistani cricket player Shoaib Malik, welcomed their first child Izhaan Mirza Malik, in October 2018. As a public figure, she was trolled on social media for her weight gain following her pregnancy and delivery.
But it looks like she didn’t let the haters faze her in the slightest. The star has been continuously posting images of her workout routine, inspiring other people to hit the gym and live a healthier lifestyle.
She also recently made an incredible comeback after a two year maternity break from tennis, claiming the WTA Hobart International trophy with partner Nadiia Kichenok in January 2020.
It seems only fitting she ended the post with an inspirational message for her followers: "Follow your dreams, no matter how many people tell you can’t. If I can, then anyone can.”
