It's a Hollywood scene so ridiculous it is the defining entry of "Hollywood Physics" - making possible the impossible.
James Bond in Goldeneye has just been caught spying on the Russians and needs to make his escape from a snowy, mountain-top hideout.
Fast-forward to where he's running to catch his ride while bullets whiz past, leaps off the mountain and into a plane in freefall. He then manages to make his way into the cockpit and pulls the aircraft up before it crashes.
That's farfetched, right? Wrong.
Two French wingsuit fliers have pulled off part of the the stunt for real - without the dozens of Russian goons with guns in hot pursuit.
Unlike Bond who did the daredevil jump in one effort, Fred Fugen and Vince Reffet, took more than 100 practice flights to perfect the stunt with pilot Philippe Bouvier and co-ordinator and navigator Yves Rossy.
Their first attempt had to be abandoned but eventually conditions were deemed perfect. The fliers prepared themselves at the top of Switzerland's Jungfrau mountain and jumped off at Rossy's command.
As the plane dived down the mountainside, the two fliers glided into position. Reffet eventually flipped himself inside the open cabin door before Fugen performed the same feat.
Both landed awkwardly but safely before screaming with joy and hugging each other in celebration as the plane's crew congratulated them.
