Usher has a go on the world's longest zipline in Ras Al Khaimah
The American singer was in the UAE with Emirati entrepreneur Dr Sara Al Madani this weekend
The American singer, songwriter and dancer, Usher Raymond IV, who's best known for songs like U Got It Bad and You Make Me Wanna, was spotted hanging out in Ras Al Khaimah this weekend (January 25) with Emirati entrepreneur Dr Sara Al Madani.
Accompanying them was British entrepreneur and philanthropist Joe Fournier and Dubai-based blogger Melina Malliaroudakis.
The group seem to have been staying at The Ritz-Carlton Ras Al Khaimah, Al Wadi Desert.
Al Madani – who is working on multiple ventures, including her eponymous fashion house, a new technology company, a restaurant and creative consultancy – posted on Instagram a picture of her and 40-year-old Usher together atop Jebel Jais.
"We did it @usher the longest zipline in the world in Ras Al Khaimah," she wrote in the caption.
She later posted more photos, saying: "What a fun crazy day".
In a series of videos on her Insta Stories, she referred to the American rapper, while addressing her two-year-old son, as "Uncle Usher".
Fournier was apparently too scared to take the plunge, he admitted in his own Stories. Usher, on the other hand, tackled the world's longest zipline calmly and coolly. When asked by Al Madani whether or not he was worried, the singer said "no, not at all".
The singer, who's better known for his tunes in the early 2000s, released his ninth studio album, A, in 2018.
Ras Al Khaimah zipline
The adventure attraction recently reopened to the public after a rescue helicopter tragically crashed into mountains in Ras Al Khaimah, when it struck the zipline, killing all of its crew.
The 2.83-kilometre long Jebel Jais zipline became the world’s longest when it opened in February last year, surpassing the 2.5km-long Monster Zipline in Puerto Rico.
Riders fly between 120 to 150 kilometres per hour, 1,680 metres above sea level.
