Travellers flying in or out of Dubai International Airport (DXB) can make use of a new free “taxi” service.

Dubbed TaxiDXB, the shuttle service has been introduced to give passengers a ride to their gates or to other locations within the airport.

Priority is given to families, pregnant travellers and elderly passengers, but the free of charge service can be used by anyone transiting through DXB.

A fleet of 15 taxis currently operates in DXB's Terminal 3 servicing the B Gates. There are expansion plans to roll the service out to other sections of the airport.

The bright yellow buggies are part of DXB’s campaign to position itself as the world’s busiest airport hub, and one that offers culture, entertainment and hospitality.

Dedicated 'May I Help' staff are on hand to direct travellers to the nearest embarkation point for the taxi service.

DXB is the world’s busiest airport for international travel with nearly 90 million passengers arriving or departing from the airport in 2018.

More than 150 airlines serving more than 220 destinations currently fly in and out of Dubai Airports.
