Regent Bali opens on Sanur beachfront

The new Regent Bali sits on the beachfront in Sanur, protected from breaking waves and the Kuta surf crowd by a coastal reef. The beachfront resort, which opens on June 1, comprises 94 suites with Balinese-style interiors and sea or tropical garden views. Foodies will be happy, thanks to the resort's authentic Indonesian restaurant and fresh seafood grill. Until December 27, stay two nights in either a deluxe suite garden or sea view from US$432 (Dh1,587) per night, including taxes and breakfast (www.regenthotels.com).

Langham Hotels take over Chicago landmark

This summer, a listed Mies Van der Rohe-designed tower in downtown Chicago - close to the city's shopping boulevards and many of its finest sights - will reopen as a 316-room Langham hotel offering generously proportioned 48 square-metre basic category rooms. The hotel also has a 2,000 square metre spa and a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant with a Pavilion lounge overlooking the Chicago River. There, a traditional English tea will be served - tiffin at the Langham first debuted at the London hotel in 1865. From July 13, a double room costs from US$524 (Dh1,924) per night, including taxes (www.langhamhotels.com).

Aman Resorts offers new four-bed villas

One of three Aman resorts in Bali, Amanusa on the Nusa Dua Peninsula, has 10 new villas available for rent. With views of the Bali National Golf Resort and surrounded by gardens, each villa sits on approximately 4,000 square metres of land and has four or more bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, a private swimming pool and a separate service building for the kitchen and staff. The adjoining resort, which is open to villa residents, organises daytrips as well as scuba diving, surfing and other watersports. Aman Villas cost from $4,840 (Dh17,776) per night for a four-bedroom villa, including taxes (www.amanresorts.com).
