Money transfer shops usually charge a commission, and transactions are made using cash. You can also transfer money abroad online using international and local banks.
Some, such as HSBC will allow you to make one free money transfer every month if you open certain accounts, such as its Status account, which charges a fee of Dh100 a month.
There are no foreign exchange restrictions in place in the country, and foreign currency of almost any denomination is readily exchanged. You will need your passport and mobile number when transfering money at a bureau de change.
