More people caught an Uber to the Burj Khalifa than to Disneyland or Buckingham Palace this year

The world's tallest tower is the seventh-most 'Ubered-to' tourism destination in the world; New York's Empire State building is number one

Burj Khalifa is the seventh most-visited tourist attraction in the world by Uber users.

The ride-sharing app listed the world's tallest tower ahead of both Disneyland and Buckingham Palace in its 2019 ranking of international landmarks (based on number of trips taken there via Uber).

New York City's Empire State Building was named number one by the ride-hail app service.

“The Empire State Building once again reigns supreme as the most frequently Ubered-to tourist attraction, with Disneyland and the Louvre gaining traction,” said the company of the findings.

Lower Manhattan’s Freedom Tower took second place on the list, while the CN Tower in Toronto was ranked in third place.

Paris’s Arc de Triomphe was ranked fourth just before the city’s Eiffel Tower and The Louvre.

Dubai's busiest tourist attraction

Dubai’s Burj Khalifa was ranked as the seventh most 'Ubered to' tourist attraction of 2019. The tower is also the most popular landmark in the UAE, according to recent data from TripAdvisor.

The 828-metre tower was built in 2010 and welcomes around two million tourists every year.

Disneyland, Buckingham Palace, the Golden Gate Bridge and the Sydney Opera House rounded out the top 10 according to Uber.

Istanbul’s Blue Mosque and Egypt’s Great Pyramids of Giza also represented the region in the rankings.
