Aman Resorts, one of the world's most luxurious hotel groups, is launching a sister brand that will give travellers the chance to stay in one of the group's luxury properties at a more affordable rate.
Janu will open as the sister chain of Aman in 2022. The first three Janu properties will be in Montenegro, Saudi Arabia and Japan.
Best known for it's ultra swish properties, Aman is a favourite with celebrities. Bill Gates, David Bowie, Princess Diana and the Kardashians have all reportedly stayed in Aman hotels across the globe.
Janu is set to bring equally high-end hotels to the market, but with locations that are a little less secluded and a room rate that is slightly less premium. Meaning "soul" in Sanskrit, Janu will also put a focus on building connections.
The first Janu hotel will open in Montenegro, close to the stalwart Aman Sveti Stefan.
With a coastal location, the resort will offer what it calls purposeful experiences. These will include everything from hikes along the mountains to boating through the Bay of Kotor.
Multiple swimming pools and the first ever Janu Spa will offer travellers a place to unwind. The "connectedness" that the brand emphasises will come from social spaces that are a mix of indoor and outdoor dining, lounge and bar areas.
In Saudi Arabia, Janu Al Ula will open in 2022 in the archaeologically rich Al Ula region of the kingdom.
The hotel is likely to be joined by two Aman properties after the hotel group signed an agreement last year to build three properties in the Unesco World Heritage Site.
Janu Tokyo will be the third hotel for the brand when it opens in Japan's neon-centric capital.
All Janu hotels will follow a similar path to sister brand Aman in terms of service, guest relations and timeless design. Like Aman, Janu properties will also pay homage to the destination in which they are located.
Janu will also prioritise a sustainable approach to operations, with what the brand calls "a conscious mindset" being central to its formation.
