Four Seasons Megève opens on December 15
Close to Mont Blanc and south-east of Geneva, Four Seasons has chosen the French resort village of Megève for its latest luxury hotel opening in Europe. The all-new property, opening on December 15, is located on the Mont d'Arbois slopes and built in the style of a traditional mountain chalet. It has 55 rooms and suites, five restaurants, including the relocated two-Michelin-starred Le 1920, and leisure facilities including a spa, indoor-outdoor pool, and kids' and teens' clubs. It will stay open until April 15 for the winter ski season and reopen from June 1 to September 30 in summer. Rooms cost from €755 (Dh3,220) per night, including taxes. Hyatt opens its first ski resort in the French Alps
Also opening on December 15 and operating on a seasonal basis, at 1,850 metres near Bourg-Saint-Maurice, the Hyatt Centric La Rosière has been built in traditional Savoyard style. It has 71 rooms, two restaurants, and a spa and fitness centre. Rooms cost from €261 (Dh1,113) per night including taxes, half-board.
Ho36 hostel opens in Les Menuires, Les Trois Vallées
More out of the way, in Les Menuires, a modern ski resort in the Belleville valley of Les Trois Vallées, is the third property in the French Ho36 Hostel brand of smart boutique hotels. Double rooms cost from €109 (Dh464) per night, including taxes; dormitory beds from €35 (Dh149) per night, including taxes. Dorms can also be block-booked for groups travelling together. Araucaria Hotel & Spa for La Plagne, Tarentaise
In popular ski resort La Plagne, which is paired with Les Arcs to form the Paradiski ski area, another budget option is also set to open on December 15.
