To celebrate the release of the new Downton Abbey film, accommodation rental platform Airbnb is offering two fans the chance to spend a night in Highclere Castle, the real Downton Abbey.

On Tuesday, October 1, 2019, bookings will open for the stay which will see two guests treated like honorary members of the Crawley family from the hit UK television show.

For £150 (Dh683), two guests can check-in at the iconic castle on Tuesday, November 26, 2019. Perks of the stay include an invitation to a lavish dinner hosted by the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon, owners of the English estate.

The castle’s team of staff, including a private butler, will be on hand to ensure everything runs smoothly and after-dinner coffee will be served in the Library. Fans of the show will recognise the book-filled room as the same place where Lord Grantham spent much of his time writing letters at his desk.

When night falls, guests will bed-down in one of the castle’s principal bedrooms complete with epic views of over 1,000 acres of rolling countryside.

An elaborate breakfast will be served next morning before guests embark on a private tour of the estate which has a rich history dating back to 1842.

Sprawling across 9,290 square metres, the grounds are the ideal place for fans to embrace their inner Lady Edith. The castle has over 300 rooms and the lucky pair will get detailed insights about the opulently decorated spaces and their place in Highclere Castle’s history.

Reservations open at 3pm on Tuesday, October 1 and will be accepted on first-filled basis.
