Tourists are welcome to travel to Dubai again from July and British Airways is set to be among one of the first non-local airlines to fly passengers back to the emirate.
The British airline will recommence flights from London Heathrow to Dubai International Airport on Friday, July 17.
"Our current schedules show the LHR to DXB route will operate every other day from the 17th, and then daily from August 1," a spokesperson for the airline told The National.
"We are unable to confirm at this stage what aircraft we will operate."
In-flight rules
All travellers on flights to Dubai must follow British Airways's updated rules for travel. These include self-service check-in and compulsory face masks as well as minimising movement around aircraft cabins. British Airways will provide travellers with personal protection packs containing antibacterial wipes and hand sanitiser gel.
The airline also advises travellers to check the regulations in place for tourists arriving in Dubai. Current measures include having relevant medical insurance, completing a health declaration form and registering personal details on the Covid-19 DXB tracing app.
The resumption of tourism to Dubai will begin on Tuesday, July 7. Travel restrictions for Emiratis and foreigners living and working in the city have also eased.
Emirates has been operating flights from Dubai to London for several weeks. The airline will re-introduce its A380 super jumbo on the route from Wednesday, July 15.
Several other airlines hope to restart flights to Dubai next month. Turkish Airlines's latest network schedule includes 11 weekly flights from Istanbul to Dubai, effective from July.
Air France also has plans for a July resumption of service on its Paris to Dubai route, according to data from Airlineroute, an online resource for airline network updates.
