As sport resumes in Dubai, so are some sporting events. This weekend it's the Dubai Watersports Summer Week, a celebration of aquatic sport.

Running for three days, from Thursday to Saturday, June 25 to 27, people can register to take part in events through the club's website (dimc.ae), or simply head to one of Dubai's beaches to watch the action.

On Thursday, there was competitive flyboarding at 6.15pm, and The National's Chris Whiteoak went down to capture the action (scroll through the gallery above to see it all). Both events are open to beginners and experts.

On Friday morning there was early morning kayak fishing and stand-up paddle boarding at Nessnass beach in Jumeirah 3.

Nasser Al Neyadi, President of the Emirates Air Sports Federation, competed in the stand-up paddleboard event:

Later on Friday, from 4.30pm there will be kitesurfing events. The kitesurfing event is also open to both beginners and experts.

On Saturday, the day's events will set off from Dubai Offshore Sailing Club with a Modern Sailing Competition from 5pm.

The event can be watched by the public from the public beach next to Dosc. Following the final event, there will be an awards ceremony for the winners.
