Publique is on a pop culture quiz night roll. The ski chalet-themed bar has hosted weekly Friends quizzes throughout July, and next month it is showing no sign of stopping. First on the agenda is Marvellous Superhero quiz nights, followed by two weeks of Breaking Bad-themed quizzing.
If you know your Krees from your Skrulls, and your Winter Soldier from your Songbird, the Marvellous Superhero quiz is for you. Taking place on the first two Wednesdays of the month, August 7 and 14, the quiz will run from 8pm until 10pm, and test attendees knowledge of all things Marvel and superhero related.
If that's not for you, perhaps you will enjoy the Breaking Bad-themed nights on Wednesday August 21 and 28.
The quiz will be based on the HBO show that ran for five seasons, from 2008 until 2013, starring Bryan Cranston as Walter White and Aaron Paul as Jesse Pinkman. If you haven't watched the series in a while, dedicated quizzers still have three weeks to re-watch all 62 episodes of the Emmy Award-winning show.
There is a Dh100 minimum spend on food and drink per person, and the restaurant doesn't seem to have put a cap on how many team members you can have.
As well as getting tested on your favourite superhero franchises and TV series, Publique offers a nightly three-hour brunch package with an Alpine menu and selected beverages for Dh275 over the summer (usual price is Dh345), or guests can avail the cheese deal, which includes a selection of beverages with set cheese dishes (including raclette, fondue or tartiflette) from Dh220 per couple.
