As part of Korean Comedy Night presented by the Korean Cultural Center, Cinema Space is screening the 2016 Korean film Luck-Key by Lee Gae-byok. Hyung-wook is an infamous assassin known for his perfection. When he slips in a public sauna, Jae-sung, an unknown actor, witnesses the accident and switches his locker key with Hyung-wook’s, setting into motion a series of events that test the men in their new identities. The film is in Korean with English subtitles.

The Cinema Akil series Herstory: Film & The Arab Woman, which features films by or about Arab women, continues with a screening of the Emirati short Mamsous by Shatha Masoud. It focuses on three people who share their experiences of clinical depression and panic attacks. Then see the feature film Cactus Flower by Hala Elkoussy, a 2017 Egyptian film about Aida, a struggling actress, who finds herself on the streets of Cairo together with her elderly neighbour, Samiha. With no money and nowhere to go, the women, aided by Yassin, a street-savvy youth, embark on a journey to find shelter.

Swim for Clean Seas

The full-length, three-act, plotless ballet uses the work of three composers and is inspired by the artistry of jewellery designer Claude Arpels. International Film Screening Programme at Louvre Abu Dhabi

In conjunction with the exhibition Rembrandt, Vermeer and the Dutch Golden Age, Louvre Abu Dhabi presents a series of film screenings that explore 17th century Dutch paintings. On March 9, see Rembrandt, the 1936 biopic by Alexander Korda, which follows the painter’s descent into loneliness. On March 16, see Tim’s Vermeer, the 2013 Teller film about Tim Jenison, a Texas inventor who attempts to solve how Johannes Vermeer painted photo-realistically 150 years before the invention of photography. On March 23, see Still Life, the 1997 film in which director Harun Farocki explains that today’s advertising continues the tradition of 17th-century Flemish painters by depicting objects from everyday life. On March 30, see Dutch Light, a 2003 film by Pieter-Rim de Kroon that explores the belief that the light in the Netherlands is different than in other parts of the world.

The French Olympic Camp at Alliance Francaise is open to children aged four to 10, where they can take part in sports such as badminton, volleyball, football, dance, acrosport and judo. Kids will make plaster medals and paint them in gold and silver, create a 3D Olympic flame and make cookies in the shape of medals. To mark the recent Special Olympics World Games, activities will be organised to raise awareness of people with disabilities. There will also be an outing to NYU Abu Dhabi in the first week, and to Zayed Sports City in the second week. The camp will end with an Easter egg hunt.
