Cool down on an aqua bike for a stress-free workout
With the temperatures heating up during the summer, it can be harder to find motivation to exercise outside. However, the recently launched SeaTime is trying to change that with its unique seawater training sessions around Abu Dhabi. Currently on offer are Aqua Cycling classes at Al Raha Beach Hotel and the Hilton's beach club, the Hiltonia, on the Corniche. The session I participated in took place at the Hiltonia and lasted 45 minutes. Similar to spin bikes in gyms, the "aqua bikes" are specifically made for underwater exercise. The class is good for people who prefer to not stress out their joints and it provides a moderate to moderately-tough workout, depending on how hard you want to push yourself. Each class has a maximum of eight seats, so it is advised to book in advance. Classes are Dh80. For more information, visit www.seatime.ae

Try your luck among the ducks at Night Pool Sessions
Cool off in the warm evenings at one of Dubai's top venues. Nasimi Beach at Atlantis, The Palm has launched Night Pool Sessions, for ages 21+, on Thursdays from 7pm, with free entry to the Zero Entry Pool. Enjoy funky beats from Nasimi's resident DJs, poolside snacks and games such as "up all night to get duckie" that invite guests to hunt for gold among bobbing pool ducks for instant-win prizes. The chic venue – beach club by day, club-vibes by night – is a hotspot on the Dubai social scene with its beach décor, cool vibe and views of Dubai's skyline. Packages are also available for poolside beds and beverages. See www.facebook.com/nasimibeach

Refresh your breath with 'Tabs'
I've always loved Lush for their bath and body products, but my latest discovery is a bit different - Mouthwash Tabs, described as "mini-bath bombs for oral care". Essentially a tablet version of mouthwash, all you need to do is pop one tablet, take a sip of water to make the tablet fizz, swish it around your mouth for a few seconds then spit it out. Fresh breath in seconds! The tablets come in three flavours, each in a compact bottle. They cost Dh65 for 45gms.
