With its central location and perfect winter weather, the UAE is a favourite stopover for many of the world's celebrities and prominent figures.

Here are the famous faces from all around the globe that were spied in Dubai or Abu Dhabi this week.

Legendary primatologist Dr Jane Goodall was seen at desert resort Anantara Qasr Al Sarab.

She met with the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi while here to learn about the organisation's conservation work with the Arabian Oryx.

British road racing cyclist Mark Cavendish shared this video of his spin around Yas Marina Circuit.

One Direction alum Niall Horan is in Dubai to play with friend Rory McIlroy in the Omega Dubai Desert Classic pro-am. Side note: 'pro-am' means a tournament that features a mix of both professionals and amateurs.

American golfer and Instagram star Paige Spiranic was the official starter for the tournament on Thursday morning. We spoke to her while she was here about how to deal with online trolls.
