Shopping in the capital received a major boost last week when it was announced that some of the world's top luxury brands are set to open at The Galleria, the new retail development on Al Maryah Island (formerly Sowwah Island). Among the names confirmed for the development are Louis Vuitton and Prada, which will make this the brand's first stand alone store in the UAE.
Other names so far confirmed include Cartier, Gucci, Alexander McQueen, Jimmy Choo, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta and Christian Louboutin. It was also announced that Abu Dhabi will get its first Berluti, Celine, Mulberry and Marc Jacobs.
Among the 110 stores will also be new outlets for Michael Kors, Roger Dubuis and Van Cleef & Arpels, CH Carolina Herrera, Kenzo and Superdry, among others, plus 12 licensed restaurants. The Galleria is due to open in late 2013.
