When Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow organised a dinner for her A-list friends recently, there was one condition – none of her guest were allowed to wear any makeup.
Demi Moore and daughter Rumer Willis, Kate Hudson, Rachel Zoe, Alexandra Grant and Samantha Ronson were among the attendees. Paltrow posted a picture of herself with the 57-year old Moore and 47-year-old Grant, captioned: “A beautiful gathering in celebration of beauty just the way we come.”
With her naturally silver hair, Grant, who is a Los Angeles-based artist and the girlfriend of actor Keanu Reeves, is already a proponent of more natural beauty solutions. Paltrow is clearly a fan, writing: “… had the immense pleasure of interviewing @grantalexandra one of the most brilliant, expansive, talented thinkers I have ever had the pleasure of speaking with.”
Moore seemed particularly comfortable with her make-up free status. She posted the same picture with Paltrow and Grant, writing: “What an incredible night makeup-free with these extraordinary women. I feel so nourished and full of joy. Thank you both for sharing your light, love and wisdom! Beauty is more than what you see, it is what you feel. So grateful to be included in such a powerful, memorable and meaningful evening!”
Stylist Rachel Zoe highlighted the rarity of leaving her house “without at least my 5 minute #makeup face on” and admitted to feeling “totally naked and insecure”. But she still thanked Paltrow “for encouraging confidence in being our most natural selves at every age”.
