Highly-anticipated attraction Ekart Zabeel has opened doors to the public, offering visitors to the world's largest mall an electric karting experience.

The opening of The Dubai Mall's go-karting venue was announced over a month ago; however, its official launch took place on Monday, December 23. The attraction is located in the mall's Zabeel extension, accessible from the mall through a 200-metre-long footbridge. Also found in the new extension are Grandiose Supermarket and a food court, with eateries like Krispy Kreme and Zambar Express.

Ekart Zabeel, located opposite the food court, promises visitors a high-end karting experience, with a state-of-the-art track and electric karting machines that meet international standards. Drivers will get a chance to improve their lap times by racing against the clock and each other.

There are a total of 11 Ekarts on the track and Ekarters can have their lap times recorded via the vehicle’s smart technology and then shared online. Racing events for groups of 11 participants or more (on a rotation basis), are also available and can be booked in advance, making this an interesting venue for corporate events or birthday parties.

The experience will be managed by certified safety instructors. Visitors can expect gear including race suits and helmets. Closed shoes are recommended. Those booking the experience are requested to arrive 20 minutes prior to the session for a safety briefing, and to follow the instructions of the track marshals.

The electric karts are also environmentally-friendly, with no emissions no-site.

The experience is open to families and children aged over 14, and taller than 140cm. Prices start at Dh95 per person for a session on the track and go up to Dh200 for three track sessions for group or corporate events.
