Youth passes Man test

ISLE OF MAN // Sam Mowle, an 18-year-old who passed his driving test at the third attempt two years ago, has become the youngest member of Isle of Man Advanced Motorists. To become a member, Mowle had to pass an advanced driving test which teaches drivers about hazard perception at speed on open roads. The course involves driving for 270km around the Isle of Man tackling a variety of roads, surfaces and obstacles. Despite being in the high-risk 16-22 age bracket, Mowle's car insurance premiums dropped by 10 per cent. motoring@thenational.ae
