UAE-based sports-car marque Jannarelly is unveiling its official safety car for the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb tonight in Dubai – and The National got an upfront peek at a development version of the eye-catching two-seater.

The car, which is based on Jannarelly's Design-1 model, has been developed in tandem with Dubai-based company PureDrive – last seen working on Salman Khan movie Race 3. It will be revealed at Tomini Classics in Al Barsha.

The race is one of the oldest in the United States, and this year's running gets under way in Colorado on June 24. The Jannarelly-PureDrive team hope to use their experience from running the event's safety car to enter a car to compete at next year's Pikes Peak.

Jannarelly takes its name from the car designer behind the company, Anthony Jannarelly, who is also responsible for the radical lines on other UAE models such as W Motors' Lykan HyperSport and Fenyr SuperSport. PureDrive, which specialises in a variety of disciplines from movie stunts to supercar rental, is run by British business partners Theo Measures and Matt Croucher.
