The midget's last stand

JOLIET, ILLINOIS // Motor racing fans in the American city of Joliet were treated to a final session of midget car racing last weekend. From 1952-1986 the Joliet Memorial Stadium hosted midget car racing with go-kart racing continuing into the late 1990s. The stadium is undergoing a refurbishment which will include an Olympic-style running track and new football pitch so "The Last Stand At The Stadium" was held to farewell motorsport from the track with classic midget racers from the 70s and 80s, as well as go-karts, competing on the night.
