New patrol car proves popular

ATLANTA // Carbon Motors is reporting strong interest in its bespoke police car, the E7. The company claims to have received more than 10,000 orders for the vehicle, even though the first E7 is not expected to be delivered until 2012. The E7, which will compete against the Ford Crown Victoria and Chevrolet Impala for its share of the lucrative North American market, has been designed specifically with the emergency services in mind, rather than being a modified version of an existing car. Its features include bullet-proof front doors, suicide rear doors and a diesel engine that can reportedly power the car to a top speed of 250kph.
