The company's electric vehicle line is about to add a new model.
I-Spy: BMW looks to an i-series saloon car
We know that BMW's future i lineup will include the i3 hatchback and the i8 supercar - both electric vehicles - but this shot reveals that the company is also testing a prototype for an i saloon. This newest i model will be launched after the i3 and the i8, so don't expect to see it on the market until early 2014. We think the mysterious i saloon will also be an electric model because it looks like there are wheel-hub electric motors powering the front wheels. There is also the fact that the front and rear wings don't exactly match and the vehicle is sporting some really narrow tyres. No other details have been provided, but expect to see an electric powertrain delivering a little bit more power than in the i3 (rumoured to produce 170hp). It looks like Tesla and Fisker may now have themselves a real competitor.
