Humvees get upgrad

QATAR // Camp As Sayliyah, a Qatari facility, has helped with the safety upgrade of US army Humvees with the first upgraded vehicle unveiled this month. The M1151 Humvee has been up-armoured with a fragmention kit fitted. The vehicle was shipped to Qatar from Iraq for the maintenance work. In Iraq, the Humvees have been used for patrols, security convoys and transporting light cargo onto battlefields and the upgrades include a window escape route for use in the event of a rollover, doors that are easier to release and the fitting of an overhead cover.
