Forget Meghan and Harry, Maserati has the only Royales you need to worry about
The Italian manufacturer has just announced a limited-edition upgrade to its Quattroporte, Levante and Ghibli models
Maserati dealers in the UAE are busy shunting their cars around the showroom to make space for a few new VIP arrivals.
These would be vehicles in the limited-edition Royale series, a range that mirrors an experiment the carmaker first undertook in 1986, when it cranked up a third generation Quattroporte.
The powers-that-be wanted a little extra elegance amid all the power and noise in the standard model, and they’re repeating the process more than 30 years later.
This latest Royale upgrade has been applied to the brand’s Quattroporte, Levante and Ghibli range, but Maserati is only making 100 units in total.
They’ll all have 3-litre V6 petrol engines that’ll chuck out either 350 or 430 horsepower, depending on the model. Two colours are available, Blu Royale and Verde Royale, which is essentially blue and green, but this sounds a bit posher.
The Royales are also finished off with some tidy anthracite rims and silver brake calipers.
It’s all very leathery on the inside, and you get a nameplate indicating which one of the 100 models you’ve got, plus the usual Maserati cabin equipment, which is headed up by an 8.4-inch touchscreen in the centre of the dashboard.
The first deliveries are scheduled to arrive in the UAE in March, but dealers are taking orders now.
Prices for the Royale series start at Dh419,000 for the Ghibli, Dh459,000 for the Levante and Dh519,000 for the Quattroporte.
