The Mercedes-Benz EQC made its UAE bow on Wednesday at the International Conference on Future Mobility at Abu Dhabi's St Regis Saadiyat Island Resort.
The EQC, which had its global reveal in Stockholm in September, is the German carmaker's first electric model and is the first of 10 all-electric vehicles slated for the coming years.
The SUV is driven by electric motors on the front and rear axles, with a combined output of 300kW, and Mercedes says that it offers a range of more than 450 kilometres.
“Our EQ cars are fully connected and integrate seamlessly into the electric ecosystem in the region,” said Christophe Vloebergh, Case implementation manager at Mercedes-Benz Middle East, and called the new model "a game-changer" and "a symbol of the dawn of a new mobility era" for his company.
Production of the EQC will start next year.
This year's two-day International Conference on Future Mobility, the fourth running of the event, concludes today (Thursday) and showcased a variety of future-facing vehicles from a number of manufacturers, as you can see from our second gallery below.
