Drive targets diabetes

DUBAI // The Women's Auto Racing Club has announced that this year their annual UAE National Day Unity Drive will be raising awareness of diabetes prevention across the country. An International Diabetes Federation report found the prevalence of diabetes among Emiratis to be the second highest in the world. Every year on UAE National Day, December 2, the club organises an all-women drive through all seven emirates in highly decorated cars to raise awareness of health and social issues. Last year's drive raised awareness of breast cancer screening. motoring@thenational.ae
