Ashok Leyland's new company

CHENNAI // Ashok Leyland, India's second-largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, has announced plans to de-merge its design engineering unit, Defiance Technologies. The plan is to create a new company that is responsible for all automotive design engineering and virtual engineering services, ranging from basic car design to advanced predictive analysis for carmakers. After the demerger, there are also plans for a major expansion of Defiance Technologies, including hiring up to 5,000 more staff and making inroads in new areas such as aerospace and defence.
