Arty solutions to traffic jams

KOLKATA // School children in the Indian city of Kolkata are using art to improve road safety awareness. More than 300 school students participated in a drawing competition held at a local mall whereby they sketched their visions for a city with safe roads. A panel of eminent Indian artists judged the competition. There were some dramatic entries amongst the students, such as the graphic scene created by 11-year-old Mohammed Parvez whose drawing showed his father who was crippled after a bus ran him over, crushing his leg.
