Tennis superstar Rafael Nadal has put his much-photographed 76-foot motor yacht on the market for €2.6 million (Dh10.8 million).

Nadal bought the 23.05 metre, Italian-built MCY 76 in 2016 and named it Beethoven because of his love of classical music. Powered by twin MAN 1,400 hp V-12s, Beethoven was manufactured by Monte Carlo Yachts and has a top speed of 31 knots.

The sleek, sporty vessel is listed by the European broker Camper & Nicholsons, which says that Beethoven "boasts excellent seakeeping and an impeccable maintenance record. Having only had one owner since new, Beethoven is presented for sale in immaculate condition with very low engine hours."

The interior and exterior were designed by the award-winning Nuvolari Lenard. The interior has a homely feel, with a neutral colour palette. There is accommodation for eight guests across four en-suite cabins, including a master suite, a VIP suite and two twin cabins. "Beethoven was commissioned by an experienced owner who intended to spend extensive time onboard," the Camper & Nicholsons listing explains.

One of the yacht’s standout features is a spacious lounge area on the bow, where deep, cushioned sun pads surround coffee tables that can be raised or lowered. There is also a flybridge with plenty of seating space and retractable bimini shade, while al fresco dining can be enjoyed on the cockpit deck.

Nadal recently told Yachting magazine that Beethoven was important in helping him relax: "Being on board the MCY 76 gives me the chance to get away when I want to get away. I have the boat one minute from my house by car, so in any moment I feel free to say okay, I'll go and come back tomorrow. That gives me the possibility to relax."
