Jimmy Choo teams up with Timberland to give its popular work boot a high-fashion makeover
Three new versions are now available exclusively at Ounass
Timberland boots were a 1990s fashion staple – donned by Jennifer Lopez, Destiny’s Child and the like, who strutted their stuff in the sturdy lace-up work boots more traditionally seen on construction sites and trekking trips.
And now the famous ankle boot has been given a high-fashion update, courtesy of Jimmy Choo.
Only available at Ounass.com, the pale tan suede boot has been given an ultra-feminine makeover that softens its hard-wearing heritage. Famous for its sky-high heels and lashings of sparkle, Jimmy Choo has created three new versions.
Keeping the familiar shade of beige, the first new model features the words Jimmy Choo in gold around the collar, while the second comes in all black, with a burnished, glittery toe cap that gently fades in colour. The third, meanwhile, is the perfect meld of both worlds, as the signature tan shade is upgraded with a Swarovski crystal collar that wraps around the ankle.
Speaking of the tie-up, Sandra Choi, creative director of Jimmy Choo, said: “To collaborate with a brand like Timberland allows Jimmy Choo to explore a new avenue and take part in a different conversation.
Even better, the new collaboration falls within Timberland’s sustainability commitments. Having already vowed to plant 50 million trees within the next five years, for each pair of the new limited-edition boots made, Timberland will plant an extra tree, making these three new designs as guilt-free as they are nostalgic.
The black and tan boots cost Dh2,500, and the tan boots with a Swarovski crystal collar cost Dh5,550.
